That is exactly my fear. I myself havent been on the computer in months(not including facebook) haha..It is beyond time consuming and at times pointless. See people interact with people. I hope the world doesnt live on the keyboard in the near future. We'll all be fat
Class rooms(+) The use of the internet makes learning more interactive. Its just a method to keep up with the times as everyone is on the net somehow. Cheating? thats always going to be there..dont blame the web
Social Life(-/+) I along with everyone else was hugeee on myspace, facebook, etc..but as i got older i stayed off..realized how nice it was to be outside my house, experience the fresh air, see the people and their expressions..not just stare at a still picture. The net is a way to keep in touch with friends not seen..but once again it should not be your LIFEEEEE
Self Expression(+) I absolutely love how people can fully express themselves like no other online..your clothes may explain you a little..along with your walk and talk..but on the net everything can come out..So let loose but dont go to far!
Life away from parents(+/-) They're here to guide us but everyone needs their space
Child predators? I dont know how to explain this one. I really hope noone is blind enough to meet a total stranger on the net...
Cyberbullying?? Who does that? Exactly..the children. People can be harmful off and on the net. This shouldnt even be discussed.

OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA

The use of the internet by the Obama camp gives us great evidence that the net is the most powerful thing in the world. It brings so many people together, regardless of where you live or any other such difference. Making social networking sites such a big part of the campaign really aided them in recieving so much help. Everyone is on the computer surfing the web, and to get your information out about your cause throught it was beyond a brilliant idea. Obama gained a miniscule 1 million supporters from the web in comparison to the 300 million that live in the United States. Since this is really the beginning, noone truly knows how far this can take politics. The use of the net to share ideas and to bring people together is a giant leap to uniting us all. Obama and his followers showed us what can be done with this relativley new tool of ours. Let's see where we can go...

Second Life

The social networking site Second Life seems to be an amazing and revolutionary idea. The way that it helps those with bad social skills, or those who are shunned from regulary activities is quite stunning. It helps you find those like yourself, a place where noone will judge you. Individuality can be expressed to its fullest, no boundaries, no limits. Students can communicate without the overcrowded 200 seat classrom. But What if???? What if people rely on this so much..that they forget how to socialize in real life, face to face. Life on a comptuer screen isnt life at all. It's still very much fasle. Who you create in some computer game still isnt you. It may aid you in trying to find happiness, but when you walk outside all of that is abandoned. Yes it unites people and brings together simialar ideas. Yes it is a form of self expression where you can be you regardless of who's looking. Yes it makes school alot easeir for communication. But in my opinion, at the end of the day, YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE..not some persona made up on the net, but the person you see in the mirror.
